Best Pickups For Basswood Guitar?
I have a schecter omen6 i don't really like the pickups on this thing and want some thing with better higher end..What would sound best with this guitar? It is made of basswood..String-Thru..I'm thinking maybe a Dimarzio Fred? Or maybe evolution? Any thoughts?
Basswood will always provide a deeper tone regardless of what pickups you put in, but you aren't the only one that doesn't like the sound of Schecter.
Before you replace the pickups, check the value of the volume control (potentiometer)... it should say something like 500K log or 250K audio on the back (it may be covered with solder). If it is 250K I recommend replacing it with 500K log or audio... you'll be amazed with the difference.
If you are dead set on replacing pickups you should consider the DiMarzio Dual Sound. Good pickup. If you want dirt and less high end then you can go to the DiMarzio Super Distortion- but thats what you're trying to get away from, eh?
